Two days for unbridled fun on the banks of the Minnesota River in Riverside Park, New Ulm, Minnesota. As always, we feature FREE CAMPING IN THE PARK from Thursday evening to Sunday morning checkout. Tents, campers, RV's, Pickups, or under the stars, it doesn't matter, You will have a home next to the river if you come to visit your family of the river. A FLOTILLA PARADE like no other, fishing, canoe and kayaking public access, a guided bike tour and city wide paved bike trail, face painting, deals on Putting Green mini golf, a brand new kids playground. Regional River History and Information Center open on site, great food, Schell's and Grain Belt beer, wine coolers and soft drinks, a fun and competitive run/walk, watershed information, horse drawn trolley rides next to the river and live music, music and more music. Friday evening, Cajun Hot Soles followed by Rockin' Blues and Zydeco sound of the "Everette Smithson Band. " Saturday entertainment kicks off early afternoon and feautres an Old Time, Country and Rock n Roll party with "Dale Dahmen and the Beats" playing virtually everything, followed by the sweetest guitar blues with a bite this side of Chicago "Johnny B. Sanders" with special guest "Miss Iretta:. Then the evening tops off with the highly polished 7 piece Jump Blues sounds of "The Senders". Oktoberfest, Holiday Inn
Event Description
Oktoberfest, held the first 2 full weekends in October, is a joint event of the Holiday Inn and Chamber of Commerce. This festival features musical entertainment including New Ulm’s famous Concord Singers, as well as local and regional musicians and bands from Germany! There is also good German food, including sauerkraut, landjaegers, German potato salad and apple strudel. Enjoy horse-drawn trolley rides past some of New Ulm’s historic homes on Saturdays downtown.
